The opening
Abdullah Albaydar moved from Jordan and opened on the Curry Mile when the strip was still mostly South Asian curry houses. He was looking for somewhere "our kind of food was available." He built it.
Twenty-two years on the strip. Lebanese-Jordanian roots, Iranian kebabs, Afghan qabuli, retained tikka — fusion we built before "fusion" was a word.

What we do
The opening
Abdullah Albaydar moved from Jordan and opened on the Curry Mile when the strip was still mostly South Asian curry houses. He was looking for somewhere "our kind of food was available." He built it.
The charcoal
Open-fire grill, every service. Faham chicken on the bone, sea bass charred whole, kobeda from the tandoor, qabuli rice with sweet carrot and raisins. Not the easy way — the right way.
The kitchen
Eleven in the morning to two in the night, every day of the week. The cabbies, the students, the Gulf families on a Friday — a Curry Mile institution open to all of them.
Plate №1 · Grilled sea bass on qabuli pilau
The signature plate
Marinated whole chicken, grilled slow over open coals until the skin is lacquered and the meat falls. Served on qabuli pilau — basmati rice cooked with sweet carrot, raisins, cardamom — and a plate of pickles, salad and laffa.
Our customers come for it on a Tuesday when no one else is open, and bring their family on a Friday. It's the dish that built the place.
